Happy Australia/Invasion Day !
Trying to appeal to a broad spectrum here.
Speaking of "broad spectrum" that reminds me of sunscreen, which reminds me of the beach, which reminds me of Bondi, which reminds me of my list of 1,000 other places I'd rather be on 'Straya Day.
[edit; that was a seamless segue]
Not now, Mr T; I came here to talk about this;
It speaks to the local mindset that a) all Australians who read this laughed scornfully, but also b) aren't quite sure if it's for real or not.
That's the problem with our Nanny State philosophy, once they get some of their eye-roll inducing bullshit through as legislation, you have no idea where it's all going to end up; and so this is as likely as anything else the local politicians have foisted on us.
NSW Police wouldn't comment if the sign was real or not, and therefore wouldn't confirm if the fine would be enforced or not - which for them is pretty standard, and about right, until you get the massive penalty notice through your letterbox - but they did snarkily remark that the officer was unaware of being photographed.
Really ? Free citizens with cameras at a renowned tourist spot, and they're pissed she's inadvertently caught in a photo ?
Well, best make sure you're not doing something wrong then eh ?
